Information on the Battery Act
In connection with the sale of batteries or rechargeable batteries, or with the delivery of devices that contain batteries or rechargeable batteries, we are required under the German Batteries Act to point out the following:
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. End users are legally obliged to return used batteries. After use, you can return batteries free of charge either to the seller or to designated collection points (e.g. municipal collection points or retail stores). If you send them back to the seller, the seller will reimburse you for the postage for returning your used battery. Please refer to the legal notice on this website for the return address.
The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol marks batteries that contain hazardous substances and indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste, but must be disposed of properly.
Pb = battery contains more than 0.004 percent lead by mass
Cd = battery contains more than 0.002 percent cadmium by mass
Hg = battery contains more than 0.0005 percent mercury by mass
